About Highland Engineering

Highland Engineering was incorporated on January 1, 1986 to provide Engineering and Manufacturing services to Industrial and Government customers. Highland Engineering, Inc. (HEI) moved its offices to Howell in June of 1987.  The facility has previously expanded five times. The facility now encompasses over 50,000 square feet. HEI’s facility is approved under many military and commercial standards including MIL-I-45208, MIL-Q-9858, MIL-STD-45662 and others, with ISO certification pending. 

HEI works closely with local representatives from the Department of Defense and has a fully approved accounting system for military contracts. HEI currently has a dedicated work force of over 50 people. Skilled workers are on staff specializing in many areas including system engineering, metal forming, precision machining, electrical and pneumatic control systems, military approved welding, fabrication and water treatment systems. Along with many commercial companies, Highland Engineering includes the Department of Defense,  Department of Interior, and Utilities as it's customers. Typically a customer will approach us with a specific need for equipment or automation. Highland Engineering will take the customer’s needs and turn them in to a finished product. Projects have included design and build of equipment to produce a product in the customer’s facility, design and manufacturing of a product, manufacturing to a customer’s design, and supplying custom equipment for many applications.
